Composer, multi-instrumentalist, and entertainer Thomas Wright "Fats" Waller was born on this day in 1904. He was an innovator in "stride style" piano which laid the foundation for modern jazz piano. He plays organ here on 1942’s "Jitterbug Waltz," which has been covered by a number of artists, including Al Hirt, Errol Garner, Chet Atkins, Vince Guaraldi, and Django Reinhardt.
I love the sound and what he played.

I was pretty bad in history in school, but there are areas where I love it: music history, baseball history, Chicago history, architectural history etc.
