Song of the Day: Nelson Riddle, “Lisbon Antigua”

Orchestra leader, composer and arranger Nelson Riddle was born on this day in 1907. Among other things, his orchestra backed Frank Sinatra, The Smothers Brothers, and Linda Ronstadt, he wrote the theme song for the Route 66 television show, and wrote the incidental music for the Batman TV series. "Lisbon Antigua" was a #1 hit in 1956.

  1. I’ve heard this song so many times and my mother even had it on some record albums. Never did I know the name of this wonderful tune. I keep learning new things.
