Simply 6 Minutes: Hot-cha-cha!

Unlike last week, when our prompt animal was one I wasn’t familiar with, this week’s is one that I know: a proboscis monkey! I know that because it makes him look like one of my favorite entertainers…

Jimmy Durante wasn’t the best looking actor, nor the best singer, nor the funniest comedian, but people loved him. Because everything he did came from the heart. (You’ll have to watch this on YouTube. It’s worth it.)

He reminded all of us to "Make Someone Happy."

Heaven knows, he made a lot of people happy. And that’s all I have to say.

  1. Yep, he was a natural and didn’t have to use a string of cuss words to make people laugh. The 2nd video is unavailable, John.

  2. I can see the resemblance! Lol. I don’t think many of the old comedians had to try to be funny, they just were, like you said, because it was natural. It was real-life. Nowadays there is so much vulgarity, and not that I am a prude, but some comedians go so far with it that it takes away the fun. Thanks for participating!

    1. I think some comedians try too hard to be funny, and as they say, if you have to try to be funny, you aren’t. Look at some of the old acts: Laurel and Hardy, The Three Stooges, The Marx Brothers, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd… They weren’t trying to be funny, they just were.
