Song of the Day: Eumir Deodato, “Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001)”

A very happy 78th birthday to Brazilian keyboardist, composer, arranger and producer Eumir Deodato. Primarily a jazz musician, he blends big band and combo jazz with elements of rock, pop, R&B, Brazilian, Latin, bossa nova, and orchestral music. "Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001)" is from his debut album, 1973’s Prelude. The song won the Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 1974, and went to #2 on the Hot 100.
