Song of the Day: Jeff Beck, “Goodbye, Pork Pie Hat”

Happy birthday to guitarist extraordinaire Jeff Beck, who turns 77 today. Originally a member of The Yardbirds, Jeff has fronted several incarnations of The Jeff Beck Group and has played solo for close to 40 years. "Goodbye, Pork Pie Hat" was written in 1959 by Charles Mingus as a tribute to Lester Young. Beck played it on his 1976 album Wired.

  1. I like it…of course it’s Jeff Beck…but when I think of Pork Pie Hat…I think of one person. Buster Keaton who was famous for wearing one.
