In 1941, Joe DiMaggio got a hit in his 56th consecutive game, a record that has stood for 80 years today. Might as well break out Simon & Garfunkel’s "Mrs. Robinson," a song from the 1967 movie The Graduate, which starred Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft, and Katharine Ross. It also appeared on their 1968 album Bookends, and reached #1 on the Hot 100 and #4 on the Easy Listening chart, and was #9 on the year-end Hot 100.
Loved the movie and the song.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the movie all the way through, but I’ve heard the soundtrack more times than I’d like to remember…

I do like the movie. I’ve haven’t watched many movies that the music goes so well with the film.

I enjoyed this song and the film. A little bit different for the times. I’m playing catchup with commenting because I got way behind. More than half of my images went astray in Eugi’s Causerie and it took me 3 days to fix the mess. The images were still in my Media but not in the posts. Go figure!

Hi John – definitely one of the best songs around … while the film also made ‘waves’ … thanks for the reminder – cheers Hilary
