He produced and/or directed over 60 movies and over 30 TV series in his career, with a strong working relationship with composer Henry Mancini. They worked together in 1982 on Victor/Victoria which starred his wife Julie Andrews, James Garner, Robert Preston, John Rhys-Davies, Alex Karras, and Lesley-Anne Warren. 1. Love Julie Andrews! What a tremendous voice and controlled(unlike Mariah Carey who “shouts” out her high C..iccchhhh). This is a great film with one of her favourite leading men-James Garner. She claimed(as has Sally Field and others) that he was the best kisser ever). Robert Preston was so good and was Alex Karras and Lesley Ann Warren who deserved the Oscar for this.

    1. It’s funny that two of the meanest middle linebackers in the roughest division of the NFL, Alex Karras with the Detroit Lions and Dick Butkus with the Chicago Bears, ended up being actors… And they were both pretty good at it…
