Ted Cassidy, best known as Lurch on The Addams Family, did a single called "The Lurch" back in 1965, and put the song "Wesley" by Cliffie Stone and Scott Turner on the B side. The one-liner is the chorus; here’s the whole song. I think you’ll find it uplifting.

One-Liner Wednesday is brought to you each week by Linda Hill and this station. Now a word about National Bohemian Beer. Don’t you wish you had a bottle of Boh right about now?
Voiceover by Thurl Ravenscroft!
Nice one liner. New to me song. I’m glad you shared the whole thing.

The song was new to me, too, and when I heard it I knew I needed to share the whole thing, but the chorus was the thing that really got to me. And he had a perfect voice for it, too.

I think he suffered from that disease where he keeps growing..acromegaly. His facial features and hands remind me of Richard Kiel and Kevyn Aucoin. This is an interesting song and I like that quote

Another actor that suffered from acromegaly was Andre the Giant. Both of them died young.

What a touching song. Reminded me of the many days I spent with my grandfather. Lovely post, John.

Lurch always seemed like a gentle soul.

We’ve been watching “Addams Family” lately (it comes on at 6 on MeTV) and I agree. I think the scenes with him and little Wednesday are particularly sweet.
