Pop and jazz singer and pianist Buddy Greco was born this day in 1926. He recorded over 60 albums in his career and had a number of singles, the most successful of which was "The Lady Is A Tramp," from the Rodgers and Hart Musical Babes In Arms. It has sold over a million copies. Here he performs it live on The Hollywood Palace in January 1964.
One of my best friends who just died sang in bars and nightclubs and always sang this. Girl from ipijema (sp), too, Satin Doll might have been my favorite. She had a beautiful deep voice.

I love the contralto voice, like Karen Carpenter and Julie London.

I do love this song and he sings it well like the rat pack style but I always prefer Lena Horne
