Blues great Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup (CROO-dup) was born on this day in 1905. His career started in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where the National Blues Museum is located and where a number of Delta bluesmen such as Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson got their start. Arthur wrote and recorded a number of blues and rockabilly standards, including "That’s All Right, Mama" in 1946. It was later covered by Elvis Presley.
It sounds really good…nothing against Elvis but I love this.

He was unique. A lot of people covered his stuff but didn’t quite give it what he did.

One of the great names in the blues. Still want to say “crud up,” though…
