Song of the Day: Freddie King, “Hideaway”

Blues guitarist, singer and songwriter Freddie King was born on this day in 1934. He moved to Chicago in 1952 and played in most of the South Side clubs, working with musicians such as guitarists Hound dog Taylor and Robert Lockwood Jr., bassist Willie Dixon, pianist Sunnyland Slim, and harmonicist Little Walter. Later he worked the West Side clubs with Magic Sam and others. "Hideaway" is an original based on a riff by Hound Dog Taylor.
