
Singer, dancer, and actress Mitzi Gaynor was born Francesca Marlene de Czanyi von Gerber in Chicago 90 years ago today. She got her start at 17 with Twentieth Century Fox and appeared in a number of movie musicals, most notably South Pacific in 1958. As movie musicals declined in popularity, she focused on appearing in clubs and in Las Vegas. This performance is from The Ed Sullivan Show on February 16, 1964, in between sets by The Beatles.
