Do you believe in soul-mates? I’ve been married to mine almost 44 years.

What are three scents you like? The smell of someone’s clothes when they come in from the cold. Coffee brewing. Irish Spring shower gel.

What are some things that you might be considered too old to do, but that you enjoy? Watch The Three Stooges.

What is one food you absolutely refuse to share? Dessert.

Happy Labo(u)r Day, what’s left of it…

Just love your answers and here are mine..I want to say my hubby but my best friend is my soulmate I think. We seem to think the same way and call each other when the other needs a call. we are connected. Smells? Sawdust, A freshly cut Christmas tree, mowed lawn. I love Bugs Bunny et al, most great cartoons, The Flintstones, Pengu, Amusement Park rides and water slides. Who doesn’t love watching the 3 Stooges? Any food placed in front of me is mine. I don’t like sharing.

We were at a restaurant once and a waitress tried to take a plate from me that I wasn’t done with yet, and I almost bit her…

Soul mate? If being married to my wife for 62 years is any kind of proof, I guess I believe in a soul mate.

Thank you John for Sharing Your World and some hilarious GIFs to underscore your answers. I’m not a big fan of the Stooges, but I know they are iconic for some folks who enjoy them mightily and can even quote lines from some of their more famous skits. I used their names in a recent story writing effort as it happens, so the Three have a little something for everyone! Desserts are a private enjoyment, meant to be solely consumed IMHO. But you might make an exception or two for Mary! ;) Have a great week!

Fun responses, John! My favorite scents are coffee, fresh-baked bread, and apples. I would have a difficult time sharing chocolate. Absolutely nothing wrong with watching The Three Stooges. Paul, my hubby is my soul-mate, especially since we survived being cooped up together due to Covid. I can’t compare to those that have been married for 40 + years but our 13 years together have been blissful.

MeTV has two hours of the Stooges on Saturday evenings. This month’s theme is “Shemptober.” The older I get, the more I can appreciate him…

John,
I am married to my soul mate, too. We celebrated our 42nd anniversary in June and we dated almost 3 years before we tied the knot. Three scents I like are: line dried sheets, fresh brewed coffee, and the smell of baked goods. Some might think I’m too old to wear a mini skirt or short shorts but as long as DH likes to see me in these things I will wear them just for him if only in the privacy of our home. Yeah, I’m feeling a wee bit self conscience these days. Age has a way of playing with your mind. I would have to say dessert as well but when it comes right down to it, I always share with DH and it’s really a good thing that I do because I’d feel so guilty if I ate it all myself.
By the way, you’re never too old to enjoy The Three Stooges. That’s some good ole fun stuff. I hope your Labor Day was a good one!

I worry about anyone at any age liking the three stooges. LOL

They have been a constant companion for going on 60 years. They used to show them after school…

I must alter my opinion then, because clearly you are a man of intelligence. Perhaps it is just me who finds them silly beyond belief.

That’s what’s so great about it. The humor is almost childlike, and yes, it’s slapstick, but that doesn’t mean it’s not funny. It’s not off-color, either, and some of the episodes are classics. They made wicked fun of Hitler and the Nazis during World War II, and always got the best of them, kind of like “Hogan’s Heroes.”

I get the clips from Giphy, and they are a lot of fun. Adds a different twist to the questions.
