Share Your Word for 6 Sep 2021

Do you believe in soul-mates? I’ve been married to mine almost 44 years.

More apropos than you might think

What are three scents you like? The smell of someone’s clothes when they come in from the cold. Coffee brewing. Irish Spring shower gel.

What are some things that you might be considered too old to do, but that you enjoy? Watch The Three Stooges.

B-A bay, B-E bee, B-I bicky-bye, B-O bo, bicky-bye-bo B-U Boo, bicky bye bo boo

What is one food you absolutely refuse to share? Dessert.

Happy Labo(u)r Day, what’s left of it…

  1. Just love your answers and here are mine..I want to say my hubby but my best friend is my soulmate I think. We seem to think the same way and call each other when the other needs a call. we are connected. Smells? Sawdust, A freshly cut Christmas tree, mowed lawn. I love Bugs Bunny et al, most great cartoons, The Flintstones, Pengu, Amusement Park rides and water slides. Who doesn’t love watching the 3 Stooges? Any food placed in front of me is mine. I don’t like sharing.

  2. Thank you John for Sharing Your World and some hilarious GIFs to underscore your answers. I’m not a big fan of the Stooges, but I know they are iconic for some folks who enjoy them mightily and can even quote lines from some of their more famous skits. I used their names in a recent story writing effort as it happens, so the Three have a little something for everyone! Desserts are a private enjoyment, meant to be solely consumed IMHO. But you might make an exception or two for Mary! ;) Have a great week!

  3. Fun responses, John! My favorite scents are coffee, fresh-baked bread, and apples. I would have a difficult time sharing chocolate. Absolutely nothing wrong with watching The Three Stooges. Paul, my hubby is my soul-mate, especially since we survived being cooped up together due to Covid. I can’t compare to those that have been married for 40 + years but our 13 years together have been blissful.

  4. John,

I am married to my soul mate, too. We celebrated our 42nd anniversary in June and we dated almost 3 years before we tied the knot. Three scents I like are: line dried sheets, fresh brewed coffee, and the smell of baked goods. Some might think I’m too old to wear a mini skirt or short shorts but as long as DH likes to see me in these things I will wear them just for him if only in the privacy of our home. Yeah, I’m feeling a wee bit self conscience these days. Age has a way of playing with your mind. I would have to say dessert as well but when it comes right down to it, I always share with DH and it’s really a good thing that I do because I’d feel so guilty if I ate it all myself.
By the way, you’re never too old to enjoy The Three Stooges. That’s some good ole fun stuff. I hope your Labor Day was a good one!

        1. That’s what’s so great about it. The humor is almost childlike, and yes, it’s slapstick, but that doesn’t mean it’s not funny. It’s not off-color, either, and some of the episodes are classics. They made wicked fun of Hitler and the Nazis during World War II, and always got the best of them, kind of like “Hogan’s Heroes.”
