Latin musician and singer José Feliciano was born on this date in 1945. His two biggest hits are "Light My Fire," which reached #3 on the Hot 100 and #1 in Canada in 1968, and "Feliz Navidad," a perennial Christmas favorite that he released in 1970. "Hi Heel Sneakers," written and first recorded by Tommy Tucker in 1963, was his follow-up to "Light My Fire." Released in 1968, it reached #25 on the Hot 100 and #9 in Canada.
