Song of the Day: Nazareth, “Love Hurts”

Pete Agnew, bassist for the Scottish band Nazareth, was born on this date in 1946. He once joked that the only reason he took up the bass was because no one else in Dunfermline (Scotland) could play it. He is now the only remaining original member of the group. "Love Hurts" was written by Boudleaux Bryant and originally recorded by The Everly Brothers in 1960. Nazareth’s cover was a #1 hit in Belgium, Canada, The Netherlands, Norway, and South Africa and a #8 hit in the US.

  1. Oh, gracious. I used to don the headphones and sing along with this one often – much to the dismay of my children that had to listen. I do love this song.
