Singer David Coverdale, best known for his work with the group Whitesnake, turns 70 today. Before his work with Whitesnake, he was the lead singer for Deep Purple for three years, after which he had a solo career before founding Whitesnake in 1978. "Is This Love" is from Whitesnake’s eponymous 1987 album; it reached #9 in he UK and #2 in the US, kept out of the top spot by George Michael’s "Faith."
This is a good song from the big hair bands of the 80s and 90s.

Whitesnake certainly put the “hair” in “bg hair band.”

I hadn’t heard it in a while, either, and I always liked it (with or without the video), so it was a good excuse to play it.

One you hear on The River…? I don’t know how deep in the ’80’s they go…

Probably, though I don’t remember it being played. They play a lot of late 60s, 70s, and 80s.
