It’s Monday! Time for Share Your World!

What is the scariest game (board or on-line) you ever may have played? I don’t know if you’d consider it a "game," but for a while my family was into Ouija boards. I actually got one for Christmas one year, and my aunts, who were really into it, demonstrated it. Every board evidently has its own "spirit," which is one of the first things you’re supposed to ask. I forget what mine was, so let’s call it Frank. Anyway, my aunts’ spirit was Herbie, and they asked if he could come to my board and chat with them, which is kind of like going to someone’s house and using their phone to call someone else. Anyway, my aunt said she’d help me, so she dismissed Herbie and called Frank back. Frank told me to f— off, and that was the end of that.

What’s just ‘over the rainbow” for you? A land that I heard of once in a lullaby. (What did you expect me to say?)

Do you have to watch something upbeat after watching a suspense or horror movie so you can go to sleep? I don’t watch suspense or horror movies as a rule, and when I do, they’re hosted by Svengoolie…

Is there intent behind every action? I would say so, except for involuntary actions like breathing or digesting food. The intent is not always the same as the result, though…

That’s it for today!

How’d I miss this? Shame on Frank! I could picture the scene though.

Thanks, John, for Sharing Your World! I love Svengoolie, mostly because the ‘horror’ he hosts is usually really cheesy and it’s easy to tell fiction from reality in those films. Ouija is getting the most ‘votes’ for creepiest board game….if my ‘spirit’ told ME to %$#@ off, I think I’d have been tempted to burn the board! (not that I’d actually touch the things, they give me a bad feeling overall and I don’t mess with ’em). Amazing outcome though. You’re the first that’s said the thing responded to you, albeit in a most rude way! I hadn’t thought about it a lot, but I never knew that Judy Garland didn’t sing that song..
I suppose they dubbed the voice in? Interesting! Have a wonderful week! 🙂 (great memes. Full hilarity too!) 😉

Judy’s real name is Frances Gumm. Did that throw you off?
We don’t watch Svengoolie every week. Usually we watch the reruns of “Columbo” on CoziTV that we’ve seen dozens of times already. Frankly, I wish we’d watch Sven more often. (Incidentally, Berwyn is a suburb of Chicago. I used to drive through it every day.)

That’s not really “scary” unless you get caught. The Ouija board, though… that’s some heavy-duty stuff…

My cousins had a Ouija board. My mother made it clear that it was off limits. Lots of Ouija board answers. I’m surprised no one mentioned Strip Poker.

The only scary thing about Strip Poker is if your parents walk in on you… 🤣

Like you, John, I avoid all horror movies except the ones hosted by SvenGoolie.

Right…. he has some classic horror films on, but because of his presentation they aren’t scary. He plays the movies for laughs, but he really knows a lot about them.

Interesting questions for today and I like your answers like the Over The Rainbow. Considering, the operations (mine is tomorrow), losing my job and my niece cutting me off and now my washing machine broke, I would like to think there is good news coming soon. I never played with a Ouija board so I have no idea if I would be spooked by it. I would say “Twister” was the scariest not only for trying to bend like a pretzel but you just don’t like someone head near your butt or vice versa…that is scary.
Yes, I like to watch something funny after I watch something scary (never idiotic movies like Friday the 13th) because it stays with me. I agree with you about the Intent part.

I figured you’d pick up the “Over The Rainbow” reference….

Good luck with your operation, by the way…
