Blues and jazz pianist, singer and songwriter Mose Allison was born on this day in 1927. He inspired a number of rock musicians and composers, including Pete Townshend, John Mayall, Jimi Hendrix, JJ Cale, and Tom Waits. "Your Mind Is On Vacation" was the title track for Mose’s 1976 album.

This is a great bluesy songwhich I really enjoyed listening to. He certainly inspired a lot of great musicians.

  He did. He was one of those guys who got a lot of attention from musicians and serious music fans but practically none from everyone else.
