Happy 82nd birthday to "The Ice Man," singer Jerry Butler. He and Curtis Mayfield started The Impressions in Chicago in the 1950’s and had a hit with "For Your Precious Love" in 1958. "Only The Strong Survive" was his hit from 1969, reaching #4 on the Hot 100 and #1 on the R&B chart.
