Simply 6 Minutes: Five Grand!

When I submitted the previous post, I checkled the number at the top of the screen where they tell you how many total posts you have, and the number was at 4999. Meaning that this is the 5000th post on The Sound of One Hand Typing! I’m sure Christine won’t mind that I borrowed today’s prompt picture from her to make the announcement, nor will she mind that I’m not really working with it as a prompt. (Hey, it’s in the rules: write for six minutes, whether it’s about the prompt or not…)

It took me just over a year, 373 days to be exact, to go from 4000 to 5000 posts. That averages out to less than 3 posts a day (2.68, to be exact). I thought I was posting a lot, so that comes as a surprise.

I hope you’ve enjoyed what I post here. I thank all of you who comment during the week and those who drop a "like" on my posts. If I don’t answer a comment, I’m sorry: I either missed it entirely or said "I’ll get back to that" and didn’t.

If all goes according to plan, I’ll be back next year celebrating 6000 posts some time in December. Maybe sooner, depending on how cantankerous I get over the next twelve months. I might just start telling you what I really feel. Just remember that I love you all, even if I do say something that pisses you off.

Thanks again, and I’ll see you in the funny papers!

  1. Wow! I am barely managing three posts a month lately, let alone three a day. I don’t feel like I have that much to talk about plus I’m at 99% capacity on WP so I have to delete or pay. Love reading your stuff, even if I don’t comment on every one. Happy Thursday!

    1. Thanks, Janet! You know, you might consider going to a self-hosted plan, where you choose a hosting service and install WordPress yourself… I know you’re still on Blogger, or at least I think you are….

  2. 5000 is a real milestone. I thought I was reading a lot of them but I don’t think I’ve even reached 1000.

    Congratulations.

  3. Congratulations John – I don’t always get to see all of them … but I know there’s good music to be found – cheers and here’s to many more – Hilary
