Song of the Day: Jim Ferguson, “Medley For Kirk”

Jazz and classical guitarist, guitar teacher, and journalist Jim Ferguson was born on this day in 1948. I got to know Jim about 20 years ago when I was his only "Acoustic Jazz" student at the National Guitar Workshop in Glendale, California. He has written a number of instructional books and CD’s over the years. For many years, he was a contributing editor for Guitar Player magazine. "Medley For Kirk" is from his 2004 album Cedar and Silver and combines themes from two of Kirk Douglas’s movies, Spartacus (1960) and The Vikings (1958).
