MMMM: Magnolian’s “Slow Burn”

Magnolian (source:

I know this is later than usual. I’ve been scrounging around YouTube looking for a new artist to feature (new to me, anyway) and discovered Dulguun Bayasgalan, better known by the stage name Magnolian. He’s a Mongolian indie folk singer and songwriter who sings in both English and Mongolian, although it seems he does most of his wotk in English. You can find his music on YouTube and Spotify, where he’s the second most-popular artist after The Hu, who are also worth listening to. He describes himself as a "crooner," and he has a dreamlike quality to his voice. Slow Burn is his most recent album, released last year. Hope you enjoy it!

  1. John,

The wait was definitely worth it. I really enjoyed your new music discovery. Magnolian has a wonderful relaxing quality to his voice and music arrangement. Thanks for sharing on the 4M dance floor this week, my friend.

  2. I was expecting something a little different, given that I’ve heard some songs by The Hu (I like them) He does have a pleasant voice. The music is soothing but the best part for me was the incredible dancing couple in “Indigo”.

  3. He was really pleasing to listen to. I like the fact that he is from Mongolia since we don’t hear many musicians from there.
