#bloganuary: Ignorance & Apathy

Today’s question, from the home office in Wall, South Dakota: What do people incorrectly assume about you?

I didn’t know how to answer this question until I read Kaye’s response.

What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don’t know, and I don’t care.

I don’t know what incorrect assumptions people might have about me, and frankly, I couldn’t care less about them. They’re none of my business. If someone decides to tell me what they assume about me, I see no point in trying to disabuse them of it. I might come back with something a guy I worked with said in a similar situation: "You’re a lucky person, because you can kiss my ass and I can’t."

  1. The older I get the less I care about what other people think. If only I could have had that attitude when it mattered more (ie in my teens and twenties).

  2. People bring their own baggage and expectations to every interaction, so it’s a losing game to try to create a perception in their mind. Trash/treasure, ya know? Great post!
