The (Belated) 10th Anniversary Week That Was

This edition of The Week That Was is brought to you by Jell-o gelatin.

Not the most politically correct commercial, I admit…

I knew that the anniversary of The Sound Of One Hand Typing was coming, but wasn’t sure when. So I looked it up: it was on January 9, 2012 that the first official entry went live. Missed it by a week… Oh well…

Power was out when I woke up this morning, meaning so was the Internet. We had sleet overnight, and it’s switched to snow and has been pretty steady since about 1:00 PM. Doesn’t seem to be sticking to the road or the sidewalk, so it might just be a decorative snow. Let’s hope.

I’m going to try something a little different this week: instead of blocking out each type of post and writing about it, I’m just going to give you a bulleted list with links to all the posts for this week. I’m doing this partly because I’m so late getting this out and partly to see if you like it this way. Be sure and leave me comments to let me know…

SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY SATURDAY

And that’s it for this edition of The Week That Was.

  1. Congrats on your milestone, and I like the new format! We never lost power and we got quite a bit of snow, which I posted a photo, yesterday. It snowed for several hours – some flurries and some a little heavier. There is still snow on the ground in my neck of the woods.

    1. Same here, but the roads stayed clear thru all of the snow. It came down pretty heavily in early and mid-afternoon, then tapered off.

Thanks for the well wishes, and I’m happy you like the new format. I might do graphics for the days of the week, rather than typing them in, to add a little visual appeal (or maybe I’ll get them from Giphy…)

  2. I hope your power is back on already, or will be soon. Stuff down there wasn’t built to Great Lakes snow standards — but then again, Great Lakes infrastructure wouldn’t stand a hurricane, either.

I really like this format for TWTW, as long as you keep the narrative at the beginning. I like reading about what’s going on in your world.

    1. I’m thinking of adding some day of the week GIF’s to make that part a little less plain, and I would definitely keep the opening paragraphs. And the commercial…

Power came back on at 10 this morning, so we’re fine for now.
