Song of the Day: Sam Cooke, “Cupid”

The great Sam Cooke would be 91 years old today. He died tragically when he was gunned down by a hotel operator in December 1964, weeks from his 34th birthday. He started in Chicago and was a friend of Lou Rawls. "Cupid" was released in 1961 and reached #17 on the Hot 100, #20 on the US R&B chart, and #7 in the UK.

  1. I so wish Cooke and Redding would have survived the 60s…Cooke had such a great voice.
