Song of the Day: Doug Kershaw, “Diggy Diggy Lo”

Fiddler and singer-songwriter Doug Kershaw celebrates his 86th birthday today. "Diggy Diggy Lo" was a #1 hit on the Canadian Country chart, though it only reached #70 on the US Country chart. It’s from his 1969 debut album The Cajun Way.

  1. Kershaw was quite the energetic entertainer. Saw him twice in concert in the seventies–once in Gatlinburg TN and once at the Texas state fair in Dallas. Fun music!

  2. Doug Kershaw is an amazing human being. He inspired me to play fiddle when I was a kid, and I am now the proud owner of one of his 300-year-old instruments.
