Today’s "Love Is In Da Blog" prompt is "choose your own," and I decided on a song I used to sing to Mary when we were first getting to love each other. "Danny’s Song" was written by Kenny Loggins for his brother Danny on the occasion of the birth of Danny’s son. If I remember correctly, Kenny had gotten a letter from Danny and wrote the song based on that. It appeared on Loggins and Messina’s first album, 1971’s Sittin’ In. Anne Murray cover reached #8 on the Hot 100 and #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart in 1972.
I didn’t like Loggin’s 80s music as much but I like this one.

This was from ’71, when he had just started working with Jim Messina. Those were his best years…

I know this song from Anne Murray but I love how Kenny sang it better. I didn’t know the back story which is very sweet.
