I get to "choose my own," so I choose this beautiful love song from Chicago’s own New Colony Six. "I Will Always Think About You" was released in January 1968, and reached The WLS Silver Dollar Survey the week of February 12, debuting at #34. It reached the Top Ten (#10) on March 4, and #1 on my 12th birthday (March 25), spending a week there. Nationally, it reached #22 on Hot 100 as well as #14 in Canada.

I’ve heard of this song before but it’s been ages. I loved listening to it once again.

There were some incredible bands that came out of Chicago in the ’60’s: The Buckinghams, The Cryan Shames, The New Colony Six, Spanky and Our Gang, (of course) Chicago, The Ides of March, The Shadows of Knight… You might even consider Tommy James & The Shondells, from nearby Niles, Michigan… Anyway, this is one of the prettier songs from that era.

Most big cities have a robust local music scene. I just know Chicago’s the best, because WLS in particular would play their records.
