MMMM: Country Randomness

Have one of those lousy headaches that only a few hours’ sleep will cure, but I wanted to get this set up. I thought I should put something out there that appeals to the many country music fans in our midst, but with a twist: I wanted to pick from country artists from the ’50’s through the ’70’s, what I refer to as "my kinda country." So I started with a favorite song of mine, Charlie Rich’s mid-’70’s hit "The Most Beautiful Girl," and let Spotify pick the remainder. Hope you enjoy it!

  1. Charlie Rich, "The Most Beautiful Girl"
  2. Ray Stevens, "Misty"
  3. Floyd Cramer, "Last Date"
  4. Ronnie Milsap, "Any Day Now"
  5. Hank Locklin, "Please Help Me, I’m Fallin’"
  6. Charlie Rich, "There Won’t Be Anymore"
  7. Don Gibson, "Oh, Lonesome Me"
  8. Roy Clark, "Yesterday, When I Was Young"
  9. The Browns, "The Three Bells"
  10. Willie Nelson, "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain"

Thanks to Robin for being the guest conductor this month. Next month, our lead conductor, Marie, will be the guest conductor, and you know it’s going to be an interesting month.

That’s Monday’s Music Moves Me for February 28, 2022.

  1. Thankfully, this feels more like folk country than twang country which I don’t care for. It may not be the first thing I would listen to but it felt very calming to listen to today. With the Ukraine, my hubby watching the news constantly, being ADHD, having anxieties and is on prednizone right now, I need calm!

      1. That’s what I feel like too…My grandma brought me up on Conway Twitty, Randy Travis, George Strait, Garth Brooks, and all of those in between. I do enjoy Rascal Flatts if I was to choose a newer country band/singers.
