Top Ten Tuesday: KIMN (950 AM, Denver), 3/1/61

Craig, who runs the blog PopRockBopTilUDrop (a blog you should read), worked for radio station KIMN in Denver for many years and has been celebrating some of that station’s early days, as well as some of the other stations in the Denver area. I thought it might be good to feature them this week, so here’s their Top Ten from March 1, 1961.

  1. Johnny Burnett, “Little Boy Sad”
  2. Bill Black’s Combo, “Hearts Of Stone”
  3. Dickie Goodman, “The Touchables”
  4. Brook Benton, “Think Twice”
  5. Bobby Darin, “Lazy River”
  6. The Shirelles, “Dedicated To The One I Love”
  7. Marty Robbins, “Don’t Worry”
  8. The Everly Brothers, “Walk Right Back”/”Ebony Eyes”
  9. Chubby Checker, “Pony Time”
  10. Elvis Presley, “Surrender”

And that’s Top Ten Tuesday for March 1, 2022.

  1. Wow, 7 years old and I still wasn’t with it. Actually, listening only to what my parents listened to, I was developing my appreciation of country music and show tunes.
