So, you remember how my February 15 battle between The Dave Matthews Band and The Band ended in a shutout. Feeling badly about that, I decided to run the Battle again, this time matching Johnny Cash with his daughter Roseanne, thinking that migfht be a little closer. And it was… a little. The fact that it wasn’t a shutout was a good thing. It was still not much of a contest…

Congratulations to Roseanne Cash. I’m sure your daddy’s proud of you even though you beat him.
Our next Battle will be next Tuesday, March 15. See you then!
Thanks for reporting the results. I was on the winning side this time. Your battle was a bit heavy on one side, as was mine. See ya later gater!

I am surprised but, you are right, he would be proud of his daughter.

I’ve learned not to try and guess who’s going to win my battles, because there’s always a surprise.

Dang. Sorry I missed this, Johnny would have had one more vote. The original is always the best IMHO. 🙂

Ferlin Husky did the original, by the way, but I know what you’re saying…

Wow! Second outcome that I’ve seen that is similar in ratio to my own and in each case I voted for the least popular. It’s the story of my life.
Good Battle, but I still disagree with the outcome. Seems like a man should be singing this one and Johnny was a good one to do it.

I think people preferred her voice over his, even though it’s a man’s song. My next battle, by the way, is another “Taking A Chance On Love” battle, this one between two relatively recent singers, who both sound good. Maybe I’ll get a better result…
