Blues singer, harmonicist, and fellow big guy John Popper of the band Blues Traveler was born on this day in 1967. "Run-Around" was written by Popper and appeared on the band’s fourth album, 1995’s "Four." It reached #8 on the Hot 100, #4 on the Adult Contemporary chart, #2 on the Adult Top 40, $4 on the Mainstream Top 40, and #13 in Canada. Here is the official video.
One of my all time favorites! I have it on cassette of all things but nothing to play it on. Glad to hear it again here.

Popper’s a hell of a harmonica player, isn’t he? Glad you enjoyed it!

That it is. I’ve not given Blues Traveler much attention, to be honest, and I think maybe I should. Glad you liked the song!

I didn’t like it at first, mostly because I knew the band wasn’t real. I mean, if John Popper had jumped around on the stage like that, he’d have broken through the stage…When I realized that was the whole point, I went ahead and used it. It’s kind of like Christopher Cross, who’s a tremendous singer but doesn’t have the “look.”
