Song of the Day: Astrud Gilberto, “Agua de Beber”

Brazilian chanteuse Astrud Gilberto was born on this day in 1940. She was married to bossa nova singer and guitarist João Gilberto and sang on several tracks of the 1964 album Getz/Gilberto, which introduced the music of the genre to American audiences. "Agua de Beber" ("Water To Drink") was written by Antonio Carlos Jobim with Portuguese lyrics by Vinicius De Moraes and is from her 1965 debut album The Astrud Gilberto Album. She’s backed by Jobim on guitar and vocals.
