
John Barbata, drummer for the ’60’s sunshine pop group the Turtles, was born on this day in 1945. "Elenore" was from their 1968 album The Turtles Present The Battle Of The Bands and reached #6 in the US, #4 in Canada, and #7 in the UK that year. Barbata looks like he’s having a good time here…

The Turtles used to be one of my favorite groups. I probably shouldn’t have gotten rid of my greatest hits LP by them, but at least I have it on CD now.
