How, when, where, and why did you learn to swim?
I think I addresssed this best in this post from a couple of years ago, and I’ve repeated parts of it on several occasions recently. To summarize: I can’t swim, but I like getting into water and standing there. The buoyancy takes a lot of weight off my knees, and that’s a huge help. But as far as swimming, I can’t do it to save my life…
That’s my story, and I’m sticking with it!

I wish I had a pool to just walk in. Now is when we need an OMCA instead of a YMCA. 😂

If you have bad knees, it really takes the pressure off. I wish I could live my life waist-deep in water…

My parents bought an Esther Williams above ground pool and I had such a blast in there but my Aunt, Tante Marlene, sent me for swimming lessons when I was visiting my Aunt and Uncle in Ann Arbor. I have always been thankful for doing this form me. I love to swim!

That’s great! Nice when people do things like that.

Are you telling me you never learned how to swim at Albion Beach?

I played in the water, but never took lessons. I could dog-paddle a little, maybe…

The feeling of weightlessness is definitely euphoric!

I have two very bad knees, and the pool is about the only place where I can walk without pain.
