It’s a new month, and guess who your guest conductor is?

I can’t show the Linky on my page, so when you’re through putting your post together, go here and add your name to it, along with the address of your post. That’s if you’re doing MMMM or are posting music, otherwise Cathy will banish you from the Linky and make cruel sport of you. Or, better yet, go to Alana’s, Cathy’s, or Stacy’s blog, where they’ll have the Linky on display. Okay? Okay!
So, yesterday was May 1, called May Day unless you’re Catholic, in which case it was the Feast of St. Joseph The Worker (actually, it was the Third Sunday of Easter; if yesterday was not a Sunday…. never mind). My theme was, therefore, work songs. Here are ten I dug up, trying hard not to use ones I had before (well….).
- Huey Lewis & The News, “Workin’ For A Livin'”
- Loverboy, “Working For The Weekend”
- The Vogues, “Five O’Clock World”
- Chicago, “An Hour In The Shower”
- Tracy Lawrence, “Up To Him”
- Travis Tritt, “Lord Have Mercy On The Working Man”
- Shenandoah, “Hey Mister (I Need This Job)”
- The Pretenders, “Back On The Chain Gang”
- Todd Rundgren, “Band On The Drum All Day”
- George Formby, “When I’m Cleaning Windows”
And that’s Monday’s Music Moves Me for May 2, 2022.
Monday’s Music Moves Me is sponsored by Cathy, Alana, and Stacy, so be sure and visit them, where you can also find the Linky for the other participants.
Great playlist but you didn’t include the workers’ national anthem, Take This Job And Shove It.

I considered it, and thought that someone else would use it, so I held off.

I listened to these while I am st work. I am not a lover of the country twang but enjoyed the others including the cleaning windows sung by British great George.

John,
Great music set! Your first theme for the month brought some new songs to my ears between your and mine song picks. I can’t wait to listen to what others came up with today. Incidentally, I think if anyone links up without any music, I will label as NO MUSIC if they are bloggers. Accidents happen. But, if it’s obviously spam then those links will get banished. 😀 I’d love it if more people began dancing with us, theme or no theme. Have a boogietastic week!

You know, it never occurred to me that Huey Lewis & the News had another song. I only ever think about Power of Love. I’ll have to come back to listen to it because my house is in silence. It’s a bank holiday and everyone but me is still in bed!

They have ten studio albums, most of which are available on YouTube (unless they put restrictions on them). Sports is a particularly good one; that was the album that really threw them into the limelight.
