Mary and I watch Jeopardy! every night. This season is a bit different: longtime host Alex Trebek died at the end of 2020, and after nine months of the show being hosted by a number of guest hosts, the show is now hosted on a rotating basis by former champion and "Greatest of All-Time Jeopardy! player" Ken Jennings, and actress and neuroscientist Mayim Bialik.
I have to think that Alex looks down from heaven every night and smiles, because this year has brought a couple of remarkable champions. One is Amy Schneider, who earlier this year had a 40-day winning streak, winning $1,384,800.
Another big champion is Matt Amodeo, who had a 38-game winning streak this summer, earning $1,518,601.
This past month has brought another long-time champion, Mattea Roach, a tutor from Toronto, who as of last night had won 22 straight games and won $534,984.
I’m looking forward to the Tournament of Champions this year to see how well these three match up…
