
Singer Eric Burdon was born on this day in 1941. He was lead singer for The Animals and War in the ’60’s and early ’70’s. "Spill The Wine" was released in May 1970 and was War’s first hit, reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, #1 on the Cash Box# Top 100, #3 in Canada and #2 in Australia. It was certified Gold in the US.
It took me a few listens but after around 3-4 I was hooked.

It got a lot of airplay on FM stations when it came out, which was aboutthe same time I started listening to FM radio. I liked it because it sounded strange, which I was into at 14 (and to this day…)
