Alto saxophonist and flautist Clifford "Bud" Shank was born on this day in 1926. He and guitarist Laurindo Almeida formed The LA 4 in the Sixties with bassist Ray Brown and drummer Shelley Manne. Here, he and Almeida play the standard "Speak Low" by Kurt Weill, with lyrics by Ogden Nash.
