
KOA in Denver has been on the air since 1924. It’s a 50,000 watt (clear channel) station currently owned by iHeartMedia, and broadcasts a news-talk-sports format on 850 AM and simulcasts on a couple of HD radio stations as a subchannel. Here’s their Top Ten for June 25, 1955.

I love Nat King Cole and it was different to hear this Unchained Melody but I prefer the one by the Righteous Brothers. Great list I listened to on Tues.

There have been a number of versions of people doing “Unchained Melody,” but The Righteous Brothers did it best.

I can’t remember my folks playing the radio much, to be honest. Mom played it a lot after Dad died, but that was mostly Ray Coniff, Percy Faith, Mantovani etc.
