Song of the Day: The Surfaris, “Wipe Out”

Guitarist and composer Jim Fuller of the surf rock band The Surfaris was born on this day in 1947. Fuller was considered "The Godfather of Surf Guitar" and co-wrote the hit record "Wipe Out," a hit for the group in 1963.

  1. I don’t think there was any local band of the latter sixties that didn’t play this song. It was everywhere from 1963 to 1968 or so.

  2. Ooh I just love this song and danced up a storm. This is when I really wanted white gogo boots a d would have my hair in pony tail and just swing my head nutty like as well as grooving my hips to this song. Twisting away….love it
