Song of the Day: Willie Dixon, “Seventh Son”

Happy heavenly birthday to the Poet Laureate of the Blues, Willie Dixon. Willie wrote thousands of blues songs that were performed by blues men such as Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf and rockers such as Johnny Rivers, Cream, and The Yardbirds. He was also a bass player of note, though he stopped playing rather than learn the electric bass. He can be heard on many recordings issued by Chess and Checker Records from the 1950’s. "Seventh Son" has been covered hundreds of times.
