Happy birthday to singer and harmonicist Huey Lewis, born on this day 72 years ago. He’s battled hearing loss issues and legal troubles for roughly the last 40 years, so we wish him the best. "If This Is It" is from his third album, 1983’s Sports. It was the fourth single from the album and reached #6 in the US and Canada in 1984.

He has Meniere’s disease and really bad tinnitus that comes and goes. He’ll probably have to retire at this rate…

Legal troubles? I knew about the hearing issues. His was the only concert we saw at the Mountain Winery that we got rained on.

He and Ray Parker Jr. had some legal back-and-forth because the theme from “Ghostbusters” sounded a little too close to “I Want A New Drug.”
