I’m trying out Deezer, which is a relatively new music service along the lines of Spotify. It has a lot of the features of Spotify, and a few more that I’m finding I really like. One of them is Flow, which is kind of like breakfast at Cracker Barrel, where they tell you “Tell us how you want your eggs, then loosen your belt (presumably because of the amount of food that will be coming.” In Deezer’s case, you click the Flow button, and you’re given options like “Motivation,” “Party,” “Chill,” “Melancholy” etc. The service then takes the songs you’ve liked (in this case, I ported over from Spotify) and starts generating playlists based on what you want. Naturally, mine is usually set to “Chill.” Here are a dozen songs that Deezer played for me…
- Santa Esmeralda, “You’re My Everything”
- Pages, “Who’s Right, Who’s Wrong”
- Pieces of a Dream, “Right Back Atcha”
- Mike Phillips, “Setembro”
- Brian Culbertson, “Waiting For You”
- Steve Oliver, “Tradewinds”
- George Benson, “Fly By Night”
- Boney James, “Vinyl”
- Classics IV, “Stormy”
- Andy Gibb, “Falling In Love With You”
- Pilot, “Goodbye (That’s All I Ever Heard)”
- Stephen Bishop, “Save It For A Rainy Day”
And that’s Monday’s Music Moves Me for August 1, 2022.
Monday’s Music Moves Me is sponsored by Cathy, Alana, and Stacy, so be sure and visit them, where you can also find the Linky for the other participants.

I don’t use any of the online music services. I did at one time, Music Match (which I don’t think exists anymore) when I got a year free with a computer I bought. I used the Amazon music service until they started to charge for it even if you had Prime. I knew three of these songs. Of the ones new to me, I enjoyed George Benson and Andy Gibb. This was chill, all right. It gave you a good playlist.

Try running the playlist from the third song: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSyZ5mLbrD9NyD-DZjCTe8GwT6jcQxzhz
There weren’t any restrictions on any of them when I tested them.

John,
Did you intend for this to be a 12-song playlist? If so, you might like to know that only “Save It For a Rainy Day” plays. It’s a nice selection and a song I haven’t heard in a long time. Thanks for joining the 4M party, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

Ha! You caught me! Seriously, I just put the URL for the song in instead of the one for the playlist. Silly me… It’s fixed now…

Deezer seems to be a great service.

It’s been pretty good so far; it seems to have everything I like, the sound quality is about the same, and it’s cheaper than Spotify because you can pay a year in advance. Spotify has the advantage of more podcasts.
