Would you be bothered having a Chinese/Indian/Chippie/Pizza or similar on your doorstep, or would you enjoy the convenience of having a takeaway outlet within walking distance?
Fact is, we’ve discovered the joy of DoorDash this year. We order from Five Guys, Jersey Mike’s, or New Lucky China (our local Chinese place) through them, and it arrives within the hour. We also order from O’Charley’s regularly; they run sales on their gift cards pretty frequently (e.g. $30 for $22.22, $50 for $40 etc.), so I buy a bunch and we order from there. We also occasionally order pizza from Domino’s as well, though usually we get a frozen Home Run Inn pizza and cook it up here.
It’s actually easier for us to order it and have it delivered, because logistics are a little hairy with me getting out of the house and into the van. The fast food places (e.g. McDonalds, Arby’s, Chick-Fil-A etc.) all deliver through DoorDash, but we don’t order from them as a rule.

I think our last take out was a Chinese meal about 2 years ago as I won’t include the dross we had from the chippy that I ended up throwing away. Even Maggie didn’t get her sausage as when I cut it, it was swimming in fat!

We have so many restaurants nearby our house including about 20+ within easy walking distance if we so desired that it doesn’t make sense for me to wait for delivery. Besides those delivery people make me a bit uneasy.

We go with contactless delivery, so we don’t go out and pick it up until the delivery person has left.
