Keyboardist Daryl Dragon, the “Captain” in Captain and Tennille, was born on this day in 1942. He and wife Toni Tennille had five albums that went either gold or platinum and six Top Ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including five straight #1’s on the Adult Contemporary chart. 1979’s “Do That To Me One More Time” was their last single to reach #1 on the Hot 100; it also reached #4 on the Adult Contemporary chart, #4 in Canada, and #1 on the Canadian Adult Contemporary chart.
Hi John – this is definitely my favourite … thanks loved listening again – cheers Hilary

Interesting story of them divorcing after 39 years. Wiki says Captain didn’t even know it was coming until he was served with the papers. Guess love couldn’t keep them together…

They were quite a good team back in the day and this one is a good song. I never understood why they sang about Muskrat love though:)

“Muskrat Love” was a cover of an America (the band) song. Why they chose to cover it? Your guess is as good as mine…

They weren’t bad, I just wasn’t into their kind of music at the time.
