
Freddie King, one of the Three Kings of Blues Guitar (the others are B. B. and Albert) was born on this day on 1934. His signature tune was an instrumental called “Hideaway,” which he issued as a single in 1961. Here, he plays it on the syndicated show The Beat! some time in the ’60’s.

It’s in their hands, I swear. I saw BB King hit one note and hold it for two choruses. Pure magic.
