MMMM: J-Tel Presents “Radio Days 3”! 20 Original Hits, 20 Original Stars!

I never bought any of those K-Tel albums that they would advertise on TV all the time. My friend Ben over at the Oddity Archive on YouTube features them from time to time. In a feat of engineering magic, K-Tel would cram 20 songs on an LP that might hold 14 comfortably and sell them for “7.99 for LP’s, 9.99 for cassette or 8-track.” Anyway, I started with “The Night Has A Thousand Eyes” and just let YouTube suggest the rest. In case it won’t play for you here, try the playlist on YouTube.

  1. Bobby Vee, “The Night Has A Thousand Eyes”
  2. Jimmy Clanton, “Venus In Blue Jeans”
  3. Gene Pitney, “Only Love Can Break A Heart”
  4. Terry Stafford, “Suspicion”
  5. The Skyliners, “Since I Don’t Have You”
  6. The Happenings, “See You In September”
  7. Brian Hyland, “Sealed With A Kiss”
  8. The Searchers, “Love Potion Number 9”
  9. The Cascades, “Rhythm Of The Rain”
  10. The Walker Brothers, “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore”
  11. Tommy James & The Shondells, “Crystal Blue Persuasion”
  12. Johnny Rivers, “The Poor Side Of Town”
  13. Gerry & The Pacemakers, “Don’t Let The Sun Catch You Crying”
  14. Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, “Young Girl”
  15. Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose, “Too Late To Turn Back Now”
  16. Jay & The Americans, “Come A Little Bit Closer”
  17. The Buckinghams, “Don’t You Care”
  18. The Cowsills, “The Rain, The Park, and Other Things”
  19. The Main Ingredient, “Everybody Plays The Fool”
  20. The Four Tops, “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)”

And that’s Monday’s Music Moves Me for September 12, 2022.

Monday’s Music Moves Me is sponsored by Cathy, Alana, and Stacy, so be sure and visit them, where you can also find the Linky for the other participants.

  1. I loved listening to all of these. ” Since I don’t have you” is do dream like and sad to me but I love this song. Sealed with a kiss, Love Potoon and song #10 really makes me feel good in a strange way. Loved this session.
