Peter Cetera, bassist and singer for Chicago before embarking on a successful solo carreer, was born on this day in 1944. “(I’ve Been) Searchin’ So Long” was written by Jim Pankow and was the first single from 1974’s Chicago VII. It reached #9 on the Hot 100, #8 on the Adult Contemporary chart and #7 on the Cash Box Top 100 Singles chart in the US, #5 on the Canadian RPM Top Singles chart and #16 in the RPM Adult Contemporary chart.
