British singer Amy Winehouse would have turned 39 today. Sadly, she died before her 28th birthday of alcohol poisoning. VH1 named her 26th in their list of “100 Greatest Women in Music.” “Back To Black” was the title track from her 2006 album, which was one of the best-selling albums in UK history. After her death, the album became the best-selling album of the 21st Century in the UK.
This is indeed a classic. Gone too soon, but this will last forever.

Right: we still have her music, and I’ll bet there are plenty of alternate tracks and unreleased songs for another album or two.

Not sure if you have checked this out, Lioness: Hidden Treasures from 2011 and I read her father stated some of her earlier unreleased stuff is being compiled. Looking forward to that!

It is and it seems to happen too much to ultra talented artists.

Hi John – It is an extraordinary song – sung by an incredibly talented, but troubled, lady … sad she went so early. Excellent choice … cheers Hilary

She needed someone to pull her off the edge. Sometimes all of us do…
